His is a household name in India, but even Hrithik Roshan wouldn’t have anticipated that a film’s title could be inspired by his moniker. This is perhaps the first time that a movie has been named after a Bollywood star. The big-budget Malayalam film is called Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan and was recently released in Kerala.

A source close to Hrithik said the actor was very amused after he heard of the film and, specifically, its title. “He got very intrigued, because he hasn’t heard of anything like this until now. In fact, a lot of people who know him and are aware of the movie are constantly asking him to watch the film, as it has also released in Mumbai. But Hrithik is yet to watch it,” the source says.

Apparently, the actor learnt about the movie through social media, when his fans started sending him the film’s information and poster. “What’s interesting is that Hrithik will be visiting Kochi (in Kerala) for a brand commitment next week. If he gets some free time, he might watch the film,” adds the source.

Apparently, Hrithik and his team are happy about the development, as it indicates to the span of his reach across markets and his fan following. “The film has done fantastic business and has had a huge opening at the box office. The film revolves around a boy, whose father always wanted his son to be an actor, and how the guy also strives and aspires to be one,” adds the insider.

Hrithik could not be reached for a comment.
