Hrithik Roshan’s father, actor-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan celebrated his 69th birthday on Thursday with aplomb in the midst of family and friends. Counted among one of the most successful filmmakers in Bollywood, the bash saw many young and old stars attend the do. Late on September 6, Hrithik shared a video clip where he wished his dad while thanking all who sent in their best wishes.

Sharing it, the actor wrote: “Celebrating the Man of steel. Thank you to everyone from all of us for the wonderful wishes for my dad today. Happy Birthday papa. @RakeshRoshan_N.”

In the video, Rakesh is surrounded by his family members, including his sons Hrehaan and Hridhaan and uncle and music director Rajesh Roshan, sister Sunaina and mother Pinky, and all of them can be seen doing a hand movement, where they collectively point to Rakesh, kneeling in the middle.

The family decided to hold a fam-jam this year on Rakesh’s birthday but it was a big bash last time. Rishi Kapoor and wife Neetu Singh, diva Rekha, Jeetendra, Amisha Patel, Karisma Tanna, Urvashi Routela and Yami Gautam were spotted last year at the party.

Rakesh, who started off as an actor and is the son of legendary music composer, Roshan, has made many successful films, such as Koi Mil... Gaya!, Kaho Na Pyar Hai and Krrish. He launched his son’s career with Kaho Na Pyar Hai.

Meanwhile, Hrithik is busy with his upcoming films. On the occasion of Teacher’s Day on September 5, three posters of his new film, Super 30, were unveiled. In the film, Hrithik plays Bihar math genius, Anand Kumar, who took it upon himself to coach children from the deprived sections of society in maths to prepare them for taking the tough and elite examination for entry in to the IITs.

For the film, Hrithik has undergone an image makeover--in the first look pictures that made it to the internet, Hrithik looks unrecognisable as he can be seen riding a cycle rickshaw and easily blends into the milieu. He also has a yet-to-be-titled film with YRF where he stars with Tiger Shroff. In the film, he is said to be playing Tiger’s mentor. What’s interesting is that in the past, Tiger has often said that Hrithik was a huge influence on him in his growing up years.
