Rishi Kapoor said he was 27 when he got married and wants son Ranbir, who is already 35, to tie the knot soon.

If daddy Rishi Kapoor has his way, actor Ranbir Kapoor might just be the next Kapoor to get hitched. While the social media is flooded with pictures of Ranbir and Alia Bhatt and their romance is no longer a matter of speculation, talks of marriage haven’t really started doing the rounds. And while Rishi too hasn’t spoken in clear terms about the two of them, the signals are all there.

According to a report in Mid Day, Rishi spoke about his desire to see this son settled. He mentioned that he got married aged 27 and Ranbir, who is 35, too should take a call.“It is high time he got married. I settled down when I was 27, Ranbir is 35. So he should think about marriage. He can marry anyone of his choice; we don’t have any objection to it. I want to spend time with my grandchildren before I am gone.”

While Rishi Kapoor does not talk to his son as much, mother Neetu Kapoor keeps the marriage question to Ranbir.

The actor, who will be seen get in Mulk, understands the pressures of being a part of show business. He explained how today’s actors are totally committed to their craft and have blinkers on. They don’t have time to socialise and the only women they meet are actresses. That, he added, was the flip side of a life in the movies.

Elaborating further, he said that he has never really broached the topic with his son as he prefers the role of a father as a disciplinarian rather than that of a friend. However, his wife, Neetu often talks to Ranbir about it but he keeps brushing it aside. He also said they would have no objection to his choice of a person as a partner as their happiness lay in his.

While reports of Ranbir’s affair with Alia Bhatt first started doing the rounds during the early days of Brahmastra shoot. Subsequently, frequent appearances together, Alia’s Instagram pictures with Neetu Singh in them and later, Neetu’s comments on Alia’s many Instagram posts fuelled the rumour further. However, in May this year, speaking to GQ magazine, Ranbir admitted to being in a relationship with Alia but also added that these were but early days.

While, Alia hasn’t been as vocal about the issue, the dinner she recently hosted at her place with Ranbir and her dad Mahesh Bhatt in attendance, has pretty much given a sanction to this relationship.
