Vinod Chopra films retrospective opens to the public

When Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s retrospective, 30 Years of Striving in Cinema: A Festival of Vinod Chopra Films, opens at PVR theatres today, viewers will get to interact with the cast and crew of films such as Khamosh, Parinda and 1942: A Love Story, and attend discussions on them.

When Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s retrospective, 30 Years of Striving in Cinema: A Festival of Vinod Chopra Films, opens at PVR theatres today, viewers will get to interact with the cast and crew of films such as Khamosh, Parinda and 1942: A Love Story, and attend discussions on them.

These sessions will be moderated by young directors like Imtiaz Ali, Sujoy Ghosh, Sriram Raghavan and Anurag Kashyap among others.

Sujoy, who recently directed Vidya Balan in Kahaani, says, “I loved the way Pradeep Sarkar made Parineeta and Vidya is my favourite. So though it’s a bit intimidating to be moderating a session, I am looking forward to it. I am also hoping to catch Khamosh and Parinda. They are my absolute favourites.”

Anurag Kashyap, who assisted Chopra at one point, says: “Parinda was an extremely courageous film for its time. I am looking forward to seeing the upgraded version and interacting with the cast.”
