Telecom regulator, TRAI will break its silence on the contentious issue of whether or not basic operators can offer SMS services on limited mobility (WLL) phones, by announcing its decision in a day or two.

"We are considering the matter and we will give our decision in the next one or two days, may be through a determination or perhaps a communication to an operator," TRAI chairman M S Verma told reporters.
Verma, however, declined to comment on the opinion that was emerging within TRAI on the issue.
