Ferozepur man gets seven years for rape
Additional district and sessions judge Jaswinder Sheemar awarded seven-year jail to a Ferozepur resident for raping a woman, on Thursday. The convict has been identified as Charan Singh alias Charanjit, 31.

Additional district and sessions judge Jaswinder Sheemar awarded seven-year jail to a Ferozepur resident for raping a woman, on Thursday.
The convict has been identified as Charan Singh alias Charanjit, 31.
The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.
The first information report in the case was registered on June 5 at Phase 1 police station in SAS Nagar. The complainant had stated in her complaint that the accused had raped her on the pretext of marriage.
She also had stated she came in his contact in 2013 after which, he had raped her several times on the pretext of marriage. Following to the statement, police had registered a case against Charan under section 376 (rape) and 342 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code.
