“The Haryana government had released funds under various schemes for welfare of the SC community, including ₹33 crore under Swarna Jayanti Mahagram Yojana and ₹35 crore under Pradhanmantri Aawas Yojana. But, nothing has been spent so far. There are several similar schemes that are not helping the community in any way,” he said.
The MLA said that he had demanded the constitution of SC Component Plan Authority and district-wise committees in the recent Budget Session as well.
“Despite approvals and deliberations several times to constitute a SC commission since it was dissolved in 2014, there has been no result yet. As per the 2011 census, the community accounts for 20% of the state population and there is high time for such a body to check if the funds are being utilised correctly,” Chaudhary said.
