The SC commission, acting on the directions of its chairman Vijay Sampla, asked the chief secretary, the director general of police, and the deputy inspector general (Amritsar border range) to appear before it with an up-to-date action taken report and all other relevant documents, including relevant files and case diaries, on the matter, according to an official release from the commission.

It said the petitioner may also be asked to be present on the day of the hearing.

The NCSC has called the officials days after the alleged victim in the case had told a three-member special investigation team (SIT) of the Punjab Police that he did not want to pursue his complaint against the minister.

The SIT was constituted by the state government after the commission sent a notice to the state officials following a complaint from the victim.
