The orders issued by principal secretary, home affairs, said, “In exercise of the powers coffered under section-2 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897, read with all other enabling provisions of Disaster Management Act, 2005, in suppression of all previous instructions on the subject, all Covid-19 related restrictions are removed with immediate effect.”
However, the residents of the state are advised to follow Covid appropriate behavioural norms, the orders said.
Wearing a mask will not be compulsory as per these orders now, an official said.
The government took the decision with the daily Covid count of the state coming down to 30-40 cases a day in the past two weeks.
