Underlying business dispute

According to the police, the attack was linked to a dispute between the two groups over supplying building materials to construction sites. The rivalry dates back to November 2021, when the groups clashed and filed cross-complaints at Badlapur West police station, police said.

Police said two the accused, identified as Aman Singh and Abhishek Singh, had allegedly been threatening Yadav and his brother for the past three years. Both were arrested and have several criminal cases registered against them, police said.

According to investigators, both groups were involved in supplying bricks, cement, and slab-supporting materials to local real estate developers. In 2021, Avnish, along with his other group members, visited Yadav’s shop and threatened him to stop supplying local developers. They also attacked Yadav and his brother, Abhishek Yadav, leading the family to file a police case.

“Both parties have been involved in a business dispute for several years and have filed complaints against each other in the past. We are still searching for the other accused,” Kishore Shinde, senior police inspector at Badlapur West police station told Hindustan Times.
