PES vs ISL Ball by Ball Commentary

6:05 PM IST ADIOS - With that, we have come to the end of this outstanding but one-sided contest, where Peshawar Zalmi claimed the victory and punched the ticket to the finals. However, Islamabad United will have another chance to book a berth in the final. But before that, we will have the Elinimator 1, where Multan Sultans will lock horns with Hyderabad Kingsmen on 29th April, at 2 pm GMT. Now the winning team of this encounter will have to play another match with United to get to the Grand Finale, but it will be a goodbye for the losing team. So be sure to tune in early for all the pre-match build-up. Until then, take care and cheers!

5:55 PM IST Award - Babar Azam, the skipper of Peshawar Zalmi, wins the Player of the Match for his exceptional knock, scoring 103 off 59 deliveries.

5:53 PM IST Earlier in the match - Peshawar Zalmi produced a batting masterclass after being sent in, with Babar Azam and Mohammad Haris laying the foundations through a commanding 72-run opening stand. Haris contributed a lively 35 before being brilliantly pouched by Faheem Ashraf, but the dismissal barely slowed Zalmi's momentum. Babar found a new partner in Kusal Mendis, and the two picked up right where they left off, combining for a fluent 84-run second-wicket partnership, with Mendis firing 41 off just 26 balls. Built on a solid 68-run Powerplay, Zalmi added another 97 in the middle overs before unleashing carnage in the final stretch. The innings, however, belonged to Babar Azam. The skipper was in a league of his own, anchoring the chase with a magnificent 103 off 59 balls, a captain's knock of the highest order. Aaron Hardie chipped in with a brisk 20 to round off an imposing total. With the ball, Shadab Khan was Islamabad's most threatening bowler, claiming three crucial wickets, while Richard Gleeson picked up two. Salman Mirza and Faheem Afridi each chipped in with a wicket apiece.

5:51 PM IST Zalmi’s bowlers dismantled the chase - From the 10th over onwards, it became a procession. Shadab Khan went for just 6 off 7 balls, caught off Aaron Hardie. Mohsin Riaz followed as well, got dismissed by Sufiyan Muqeem for 25, and suddenly United were 100/4 with the asking rate spiralling completely out of control. After that event, Mark Chapman, Haider Ali, Faheem Ashraf and Chris Green fell after one another, and all the mentioned batters haven’t been able to get to double digits as well. Imad Wasim had a quickfire, scoring 22 off 15 balls, but that couldn’t help United much. Mohammad Basit hammered the final nail on the coffin by picking the last two wickets and Islamabad United were all out with 151 on the board.

5:48 PM IST A promising start from United - Chasing 222 on a Qualifier night was always going to demand something extraordinary, and for a brief, tantalising moment, Islamabad United looked like they just might have the firepower to make a contest of it. Devon Conway and Sameer Minhas came out swinging, putting on a ferocious 58-run opening stand off just 30 balls. Minhas was the standout, blazing 44 off 23 balls, while Conway chipped in with 20 off 14. But when Conway was dismissed by Michael Bracewell in the 5th over and Minhas fell shortly after in the 9th over, the innings began to unravel rapidly. Mohsin Riaz tried to hold things together with a patient 25 off 20, but at a required run rate climbing high, patience was a luxury United simply could not afford.

5:44 PM IST Zalmi to the finals - Peshawar are through to the Finals for the fifth time in the PSL history by beating Islamabad United by a huge margin of 70 runs. With that victory, they booked their place directly in the PSL 2026 Final. No Eliminator required. No second chances required. Straight to the big night. Built on the foundation of Babar Azam's breathtaking 103 off 59 balls and dismantled by Hardie and Muqeem's clinical bowling, this was a performance that had all the hallmarks of a champion side peaking at exactly the right time. Islamabad United will now fight through the Eliminator for one more shot at glory, but tonight belongs entirely to the men in yellow. Peshawar Zalmi are marching to the Final, and they are coming to win it all!
