Many believe Mumbai Indians have cracked the code of beating Chennai Super Kings in IPL. After all, they are the only side to have a better head-to-head record – 16 wins and 11 losses - against CSK. No wonder pundits have given the favourites tag to MI ahead of the IPL 2019 final at Hyderabad on Sunday. But that hasn’t stopped a fan from drafting a plan for MI on how to tackle CSK in the IPL final.
In a letter shared on social media, the fan listed out eight points to get the better of CSK. Firstly, he wanted MI to field six bowling options and one of them should be South Africa’s Beuran Hendricks. He also provided a definite plan for Rohit Sharma on how to use Hardik Pandya as a bowler. According to the fan, MI should use Pandya between overs 8-16.
Whether MI captain Rohit Sharma will actually make use of the plan is doubtful but CSK have already set the alarm bells ringing.
The Chennai Super Kings official twitter handle decided to alert head coach Stephen Fleming about the plan. “Fan made plan to tackle the #Yellove Brigade tomorrow! Bringing the infor-MI-tion to your notice, Super Coach @SPFleming7!” tweeted CSK.
This will be the fourth IPL final between MI and CSK and both of them have a chance of winning the IPL for a record fourth time.
The pitch at Hyderabad, which suits the fast bowlers more than the spinners, may force both the sides to get out of their comfort zones.
