An NGO, Green Circle, comprising Dwarka residents, have prepared the ‘Green Manifesto’, which has 15 demands to improve air quality and other environment concerns.

V Selvarajan, founder general secretary of the NGO, said the “fairly green” Dwarka sub-city over the last year has emerged as the new pollution hotspot of the national capital. Last winter, between October and January, the average air quality index, as recorded by CPCB, remained over 300, in “very poor” in the area. “Delhi already has toxic air but environment still doesn’t feature on any party’s manifesto,” Selvarajan said. “The residents of Dwarka are dependent on cars, mainly owing of poor connectivity. Dwarka is also along the route to reach Gurugram, which ensures high vehicular movement and the resultant pollution,” Selvarajan said.
