Police said the head constable, identified by his single name, Satish, was upset over some personal and family issues. Satish had last spoken to his elder son, who works with the Indian Air Force and posted in Assam.
During the conversation, which was recorded in Satish’s phone, he shared his unhappiness on some family issues, the police said. The police recovered no suicide note.
Deputy commissioner of police (west) Monika Bhardwaj said the head constable was posted in the Vikaspuri police station. “The incident came to our notice at around 11.30 pm when Satish’s family called the police control room and reported that he had shot himself,” said Bhardwaj.
