According to figures provided by the Delhi Police, the accused were arrested within one week in 125 out of 138 solved rape cases, 369 out of 401 solved cases of molestation and 253 out of 283 cases of misbehavour with women.

The figures are presented for a period between January 1 and March 15.

"The expeditious arrest of criminals in cases of rape, molestation and eve-teasing is expected to be a deterrent for criminals," a Delhi Police spokesperson said.
