The leaders are understood to have discussed the impending changes in the 40-month-old government, which has already seen two reshuffles. With eight ministers handling multiple portfolios and resignation of six Trinamool Congress ministers, the latest round of rejig looks certain but when the exercise would finally take place remains a matter of suspense.

President Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to return back to the Capital on Friday and the Shraddh period — considered inauspicious by Hindus — begins from September 30. This leaves Friday evening and Saturday as the only possible days. This would be followed by a reshuffle in Congress party.
