Several slum dwellers, under the leadership of party president Udit Raj, were protesting against irregularities in the DDA housing scheme 2008, on Tuesday. The protesters claimed that the police beat them up and several other protesters including women were injured in the process.
The police have denied the allegation and said the protesters were trying to enter the DDA premises and were only stopped from doing so.
Udit Raj alleged that the police were not investigating the housing scam properly and have not arrested any DDA officials yet.
He claimed that without the connivance of these officials the scam would not have been possible.
