JEE Main Result 2021 highlights: Result declared, 6 get 100 NTA score

NTA will declare the JEE Main Result for the February session examination shortly. Once the result is declared, candidates will get their NTA scores. The marksheet shows the percentile of the candidates which can be converted into percentage. However, the agency will not release the AIR for the candidates who have appeared in the JEE mains February examination.

Candidates who are found to be indulging in the unfair means of cheating in the JEE main 2021 February session examination would be debarred for 3 years in the future and shall also be liable for criminal action and /or any other action as deemed fit.

The computer-based examination will carry 90 questions. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) while Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five out of 10 questions. For each correct answer, the candidate will be rewarded with four marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers for Section B.

This year, the NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2021 examination in 4 sessions. The first session was scheduled to be held from February 23 to 26, 2021. The second session is scheduled to be conducted from March 15 to 18, 2021, followed by the third session, which will be held from April 27 to 30, 2021. The fourth session is scheduled to be held from May 24 to 28, 2021.

JEE Main result will be declared on the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates will have to log in using their ID and password. If you have forgotten the password, you can recover it easily. Click on the ‘Forgot password’ link given below the login window. You will have to choose the option to get a recovery code on a registered email Id or Mobile number. Key in the code and choose a new password and note it down somewhere.

Percentile and the percentage of marks are two totally different entities. Thus, aspirants should not confuse both the above terms. Here’s the difference:

Percentage: A percentage is a number out of 100

Percentile: The percentile score of a candidate would reflect how many candidates have scored below that candidate in an exam. A Percentile score is a value below which a certain percent of observations fall.

NTA generally declares JEE Main Results in the second half of the day. Candidates can expect their results by evening.

To avoid the clash between the CBSE board examination and JEE Main dates, the National Testing Agency will open the application forms of JEE Main 2021 from May 3 to 12, 2021 (for the May session) asking the candidates to inform the agency about their Class 12 Roll number and name of the Board.

"The candidates appearing for the Class 12 Board examination as well as JEE (Main) will be required to provide information under “Whether appearing for Board Examination on any of the dates 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th May 2021” and select the ‘Date of their Class 12 Board Examination’ in their online Application Form so that there is no clash of their schedule of JEE (Main) with Class 12 Board Examination," reads the official notice.

The agency will conduct the evaluation of multiple-choice questions of B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning by using final answer keys and the raw (actual) marks obtained by the candidate will be considered further for computation of the result of JEE Main February 2021 examination.

The National Testing Agency will conduct the JEE Main 2021 examination in multiple session. Candidates will be allowed to appear in one or more sessions. Based on the candidate's best score, the agency will prepare the JEE main merit list this year.

The NTA’s decision on the challenges shall be final and no further communication will be entertained. NTA will not inform the Candidates individually about their challenges.

The All India Rank of candidates will be compiled and declared after conduct of the JEE (Main) May 2021 Examination. So candidates should not expect to see their ranks alongwith the results at this stage

The percentile score would be based on the relative performance of all the aspirants appearing in the exam. The score would be obtained after transforming the scores into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.

A total of 24 candidates had scored 100 percentile in the JEE (Main) January and April/September- 2020 examination.

A total of 95% attendance has been witnessed in the JEE main 2021 February session examination, Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted on February 26, 2021.

The National Testing Agency had conducted the JEE Mains 2021 February session exam in 13 languages such as English, Hindi, Gujarati, Assamese, Bengali, Malayalam, Odia, Marathi, Punjabi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, and Punjabi.

NTA released the provisional answer key of JEE Mains on March 1, 2021. Candidates were allowed to challenge any answer key till March 3, 2021. After considering the valid objections, NTA will release the final answer key along with the results.
