Ashwin Baranwal (17), student of GD Goenka Public School had scored 99.50 percentile in the January 2019 examination. He sounded relaxed about the April result. “I have done well in January 2019. If I do well in April exam, I will be happy,” he said.
Ashwin is more focused for JEE Advanced to be held on May 27. He said he will prefer institute over stream. “The brand IIY is more important than stream. I have not yet made my mind as which stream I should puruse,” said Ashwin.
Sajal Nigam (18), a student of Study Hall had scored 98.249 percentile in January exam and is confident that he would do even better in April examination. “I was happy after writing the April examination. I was better prepared this time. I stayed focused and studied hard,” he said.
Sajal is now concentrating for JEE Mains to be held next month. “It is the JEE Advanced that will decide our future,: he said. Both these students welcomed the decision of giving two attempts to students so they may improvise on their tally.
Sachin Jethanandani (18), a student of City Montesso School, Gomti Nagar branch said after tallying the answer key he is expected to score 287 marks. Last time in January he could score 243. “Alongside JEE, I will also appear for BITS Aptitude Test to be held on May 21. Though I will prefer, IIT Kanpur or Delhi and computer science is my natural choice,” he said.
In January 2019, Himanshu Gaurav Singh of Gorakhpur and Naman Gupta of Kanpur were among the 15 students in the country who scored 100 percentile in JEE Mains (January 2019) examination, the result of which was declared by National Testing Agency (NTA).
Both Himanshu and Naman had said this was just the first hurdle.
