Kanpur, Lucknow seats highlights: BJP candidate ahead in Bakshi Kaa Talab
Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022: UP law minister Brajesh Pathak defeated his rival, SP's Raju Gandhi by nearly 40,000 votes, from the Lucknow Cantt seat.

Lucknow has the following nine constituencies: Bakshi Kaa Talab, Lucknow Cantt, Lucknow Central, Lucknow West, Lucknow North, Malihabad, Mohanlalganj and Sarojini Nagar. Kanpur, meanwhile, has the following seats: Bilhaur, Bithoor, Kalyanpur, Govindnagar, Sishamau, Aryanagar, Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur Cantt, Maharajpur and Ghatampur.
The competition in the state is mainly between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance and the opposition Samajwadi Party (SP)-led coalition. BJP leader Yogi Adityanath is the incumbent chief minister while SP chief and former CM Akhilesh Yadav is his primary challenger.
