Alia Bhatt turns 29: Soni Razdan explains meaning behind her name, Neetu Kapoor has a message

Soni Razdan, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor and Ajay Devgn are among those who have wished Alia Bhatt on her 29th birthday.

Alia Bhatt turned 29 on Tuesday. She is currently on a vacation with actor mom Soni Razdan and sister Shaheen Bhatt in Maldives. Soni has now penned a poem to wish Alia on her birthday in a special way. Actor Neetu Kapoor, mom of Alia's boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, and his sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni have also wished Alia on her birthday.

Soni Razdan and Neetu Kapoor have wished Alia Bhatt on her 29th birthday. 

Sharing a childhood picture of Alia and one from her Student of the Year days, Soni shared a poem on Instagram, beginning with, “To my dearest Alia on her birthday.”

The poem read, "Alia means ‘exalted’ and that you most certainly are, apart from the fact that today you’re a bright star. When we named you we didn’t have a clue, that this is what your name meant, and that it might come true. All we knew about you was that you were so sweet, so cute and so cuddly and adorable and neat. And then you grew up to be a lovely person, kind and considerate and balanced and so certain, of what it was you wanted and what was right and wrong. And how to go about making life into a song, a song of beauty and of love, and of so much caring. One thing is for certain, your life’s all about the sharing. To you on your birthday I wish you so much love, from all of the earth and the heavens above. Always remember there’s one thing that’s true, and that is that you are just perfect as YOU. You’re special, you’re fabulous, you’re super and fantabulous. You’re super-cali- fragilous, and expi-Alia-docillous."

She ended the poem with a message, "Happy Birthday dearest one, Your loving Mama." Alia just wrote “Mommy” along with several heart icons in her reaction to the poem in the comments section.

Neetu Kapoor wished Alia on her Instagram Stories by sharing a picture of them together. She wrote, “Happy birthday to the most beautiful inside out.” Riddhima Kapoor also shared a picture featuring her, daughter Samara, Alia and Neetu. “Happiest birthday my beautiful Aaloo! Love you so much.”

Alia is currently riding high on the success of her film Gangubai Kathiawadi. It released in theatres last month and has reportedly crossed the ₹100 crore mark. Her co-star Ajay Devgn also wished her on Twitter, along with a line from the film, “Happy birthday, dear Alia. It’s been a treat to witness your excellence. Never change, kyunki Gangu chaand hi rahegi!”
