Actor Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul shared their first pictures as bride and groom. They tied the knot on Monday at Suniel Shetty's Khandala farmhouse.
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul tied the knot at Suniel Shetty's Khandala farmhouse on Monday. The bride and groom announced their wedding on Instagram. They wrote, “In your light, I learn how to love…Today, with our most loved ones, we got married in the home that’s given us immense joy and serenity. For the wedding, Athiya wore a full sleeve pink blouse and lehenga. She also opted for heavy jewellery. Rahul was seen in a cream sherwani.
There was hardly any glimpse of the highly guarded wedding but Suniel on Sunday, had promised the paparazzi to pose for pictures with the newlyweds after the wedding. He told the paparazzi on Sunday, "Main kal leke aata hoon bachhon ko. Aapne jo pyaar dikhaya uske liye bohot bohot thank you (I will bring the kids tomorrow (to pose after the wedding) Thank you for showing us so much love."
Ajay Devgn, who starred with Suniel Shetty in the 1994 film Dilwale, was among the first ones to congratulate him on his daughter's wedding. Sharing a throwback picture of Athiya and Rahul on Twitter, Ajay wrote, "Congratulations to my dear friends @SunielVShetty & #ManaShetty for their daughter @theathiyashetty’s marriage to @klrahul. Here’s wishing the young couple a blissful married life. And, Anna, here’s a special shout-out to you on this auspicious occasion. Love. Ajay."
On Sunday, pre-wedding celebrations could be seen at Suniel's Khandala farmhouse. The household was all lit up and many guests were spotted wearing traditional clothes and dancing to music.
Suniel had long denied the wedding date nor the couple ever confirmed tying the knot. It was confirmed only when KL Rahul took a long leave from cricket schedule during the wedding season.
