Haiwaan teaser: Blind Saif Ali Khan hunts ‘monster’ Akshay Kumar; Priyadarshan reminds Bollywood what ‘teaser’ means
Haiwaan teaser has no dialogue and not even a face reveal of the two stars. Yet, it manages to raise intrigue about the film effectively.
The teaser of Haiwaan, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s reunion, was unveiled on Wednesday, and it seems to have a message for the film industry. After years of watching 2-minute-long ‘teasers’ that almost give the plot away, the psychological thriller finally holds its cards close to its chest, but not in an annoying manner. Haiwaan teaser does what it is supposed to: tease the audience while heightening intrigue, without even revealing what the film is about.

Haiwaan teaser is chilling
The short, 45-second teaser begins with a silhouette of Saif as eerie music plays. The crescendo then builds up as a silhouette of a sinister-looking Akshay is revealed. We learn that Saif is visually impaired, as he walks with a walking stick and wears a special watch for the blind. A bloody hand hints at something violent afoot. A clip shows Akshay’s character walking menacingly before we hear his sinister laugh.
The teaser does not reveal the two actors’ faces, nor does it include any shots of any other characters from the film or details about the plot. But it can be implied that the titular haiwaan may be played by Akshay, with a blind Saif trying to hunt him down. Keeping its biggest cards firmly under wraps, the teaser leaves audiences guessing about what lies beneath the surface.
The internet loves the intrigue
Fans were all in for Haiwaan after the intriguing introduction to this dark world. Director Priyadarshan earned some praise for how the teaser has been cut, as did the two actors. “Priyadarshan + Akshay Kumar = Blockbuster,” wrote one. Many fans particularly praised Akshay’s return to what appears to be a negative space. “Ajnabi, Robot 2.0 and now Haiwaan. Finally AK Paaji back in villainous mode,” read one comment. Another person wrote, “No dialogue fir bhi goosebumps. Akshay kumar villain mode on.” Some, however, felt this was too little. “At least they should have given the first look at characters,” complained one.
All about Haiwaan
Adding to its powerful lead pairing, Haiwaan also features an ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar in pivotal roles. Haiwaan is produced under KVN Productions and Thespian Films by Venkat K. Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn. The film releases theatrically on 11 September 2026.
