R Madhavan goes incognito
In an unexpected moment, Madhavan was recently spotted at a theatre in Mumbai, blending in with the crowd as he casually watched his own film like any other excited viewer.
The candid moment was shared by exhibitor Akkshay Rathie on Instagram Stories. In the clip, Madhavan appears completely at ease, taking in the audience’s reactions and immersing himself in the big-screen experience.
Along with the image, Akshaye quipped, “ISI can make whatever plans they want to. Just let them know, Ajay Sanyal has his eyes on them all the time! Such a fun time catching."

Later, he took to his Instagram handle to share a picture with the actor after the screening, along with a note about his experience of watching the film alongside Madhavan.
The caption of the post read, “...such a fun evening with some of the most incredible people I know from varied fields!@aditidugar & @adityavdugar run India's No 1 rated restaurant @masquerestaurant, @ankit_vision is the founder of India's top drone manufacturing company @lifeatideaforge & @actormaddy is, well...MADDY (needs no introduction beyond that)! The kind of memories you cherish for long. #DhurandharTheRevenge #AtTheMovies #FunTimes #Cinema #Mumbai.”
In the film, Madhavan played the role of Ajay Sanyal, Director of IB. Recently, he came forward to clarify a scene from Dhurandhar. Many had shared pictures and videos of him smoking, claiming that he lit up the cigarette while reciting lines from Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Dasam Granth. After backlash from the Sikh community, the actor posted a video to clarify.
He said, “Mujhe poora yakeen hai ki iss scene ke dauran, bolne se pehle, Aditya Dhar ji ne, jo mujhse zyada khayal rakhte hai in sab chizo ka, unhone mujhse kaha tha ki ye line bolte waqt, isse bohot pehle aap cigarette bhuja dijiyega aur aapke mooh se nahi dhuan nikalega, nahi screen pe kahi dhuan dikhaya jaega, na hi aapke haath me cigarette hogi kyunki hamare liye bohot hi paak aur pavitra hai. (I am certain that during this scene, before delivering the lines, Aditya Dhar, who takes more care of these things than I do, told me to put out the cigarette well in advance. He said no smoke would come out of my mouth, no smoke would appear on screen, and there would be no cigarette in my hand because it is very pure and sacred for us.)”
