Ranbir Kapoor gives update on Brahmastra 2, addresses criticism about dialogues and lack of chemistry in Part 1. Watch
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starred in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, which released on Septemeber 9 2022. Earlier there were reports that the sequel is shelved.
Ranbir Kapoor just gave his fans a big update about Brahmastra 2. The actor spoke to his fans in a live event, which found its way to the Reddit page Bolly Blinds N Gossip. In the clip, Ranbir shared that Brahmastra 2 is 'heavy into writing' and that Ayan Mukerji has 'gone ten times bigger than part 1.' Ranbir opens up on Brahmastra sequel
In the clip that was shared on Reddit, Ranbir was seen confirming that Brahmastra 2 is very much in the development stage. He said, “So Brahmastra 2 is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time, it was just last week that Ayan narrated the film to me. Ayan has gone ten times bigger than part 1, his idea, his thought, the characters. He is working on War 2 right now, so the plan is to finish War 2 by mid next year and we start shooting hopefully by end of next year, or beginning of next to next year. But definitely there's a lot of work which is already happening on the film in the writing process. ”
On criticism of Brahmastra Part 1
Ranbir also addressed the criticism that Part 1 received, and said further, "We have really understood the kind of criticism we got for the film. What worked for it and what didn't work for it. So we want to put everything into consideration. From the dialogues or people saying that Shiva and Isha's chemistry was somewhere missing... There was a lot of criticism that was constructive so we are taking that into our stride, and trying to understand that and kind of go beyond that."

Brahmastra starred Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The movie marked the beginning of a big-budget fantasy adventure franchise. Brahmastra follows a Shiva (Ranbir), who sets out on a journey to find the origins of his special powers with Isha (Alia), a woman he falls in love with at first sight.
The film, which earned over ₹400 crore at the worldwide box office, was one of the major commercial successes of the Hindi film industry during the pandemic. In April this year, Ayan had announced that the two sequels of Brahmastra will be "bigger and more ambitious than Part One".
