Sanjay Kapoor calls Juhi Chawla 'extremely gracious' for being his co-star after Divya Bharti's death

Sanjay Kapoor's 1995 film Kartavya completed 26 years on Thursday. He recalled how Juhi Chawla agreed to be his co-star after Divya Bharti's death.

Actor Sanjay Kapoor on Thursday took a trip down memory lane as his film Kartavya completed 26 years. Taking to Instagram, he shared photos saying that it was the 'first picture' he signed with late actor, 'beautiful Divya Bharti'.

Sanjay Kapoor also recalled that Divya Bharti died after 'shooting 40% of the film' and actor Juhi Chawla stepped in her shoes. He said it was 'extremely gracious' of her to do it as she was already 'such a big star' then.

Reacting to his post, a fan wrote, "Sanjay Bhai honored to be friend with you having great values, 26 years later still appreciating Juhi Chawla being gracious to work in Karatavya." Sanjay replied with a red heart emoji. A fan wrote, "Beautiful movie." "Wow congrats- you looked young then and still 26years younger now !" commented another fan.

Kartavya (1995) was directed by Raj Kanwar and Divya Bharti was to play the role of Kaajal. However, she died in April 1993 and Juhi Chawla replaced her.

Meanwhile, Sanjay was last seen in the supernatural crime series The Last Hour, also starring Shahana Goswami. It debuted on Amazon Prime Video in May.

Sanjay will be seen next in the upcoming thriller series Finding Anamika. The series also stars actor Madhuri Dixit, Manav Kaul, Lakshvir Saran, Suhasini Muley and Muskkaan Jafari. The show features Madhuri as a superstar who suddenly goes missing. It has been directed by Karishma Kohli and Bejoy Nambiar.
