Mira Rajput, wife of actor Shahid Kapoor, on Saturday wished her father-in-law, actor Pankaj Kapur, as he rang in his 67th birthday. Taking to Instagram Stories, Mira shared a picture of Pankaj and wrote, "Happy Birthday Dad", followed by a series of emojis.

Last year on his 66th birthday, Mira had posted a monochrome family picture. She had written, "Happy Birthday Dad. Nobody is as cool and as warm as you are In a family of Alphonsos we’re the Safedas! To the bestest ‘Baba’, We love you."

Shahid is Pankaj’s son from his first marriage to actor Neliima Azeem. The couple divorced in 1984 and Pankaj later married actor Supriya Pathak.

In an interview with Hindustan Times in 2015, Pankaj had said, “For a father, to separate from his son is not easy. It was a huge emotional loss for me [the last time around] and I started living with the hope that there will come a time when we will come close to each other again. And today, it’s a great feeling to sit next to him, see his work or hear him speak and bond with the family...I missed him every day, but there were professional constraints. What’s most fortunate is that once he turned 18, Shahid assisted me for a while, so we got to spend a lot of time with each other. Then, we started going for holidays together with the family, so the bonding increased, especially after we shifted to our new house.”

Pankaj has contributed immensely to the entertainment industry. Some of his notable performances include Arohan, Ek Doctor Ki Maut, Maqbool and The Blue Umbrella, among others. He became popular through his TV series Karamchand and Office Office.

The upcoming sports-drama Jersey will see Pankaj and Shahid sharing screen space. The film is set to release on November 5.
