Whether you are breaking up with a partner, one of the hardest things to do after you have split is to talk to them. Here’s how you can keep the conversation going with your ex soon after you’ve broken up.
Try as hard as you can to be agreeable with whatever your ex has to say. That does not mean that you have to agree with everything that they say, but by being agreeable, you will be avoiding any arguments.
Make sure that you let your ex knows how you feel about him/her. This does not mean that you beg them to take you back or tell them that you are going to die without them. Just let them know that you will always care about them, even if it is as a friend.
Avoid arguments... no matter how tempting it is. Keep your conversations light and cordial. The less serious things you talk about, the easier it is to have a conversation.
