Dulquer Salmaan’s Onam release I'm Game postponed, will now have pan-India release in September in multiple languages
Dulquer Salmaan shared that the new release date for I'm Game comes with a ‘larger vision’ for the film.
Fans will have to wait a little longer for Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming film I'm Game. The Malayalam film was set for an Onam release on August 20, but now stands postponed. Dulquer took to his Instagram account to explain why the release date was shifted.
When will I'm Game release?
Dulquer revealed that I'm Game will now arrive in theatres on September 3.
In a long note shared on his Instagram account, Dulquer wrote, "The game gets bigger. The release gets wider. We understand the anticipation and we apologize for the delay, but #imgame will now release worldwide on 3rd September, moving from its earlier release date of 20th August."

The actor went on to say, “The new release date comes with a larger vision for the film as #imgame gears up for a wider theatrical release across markets. The film will now simultaneously release in multiple languages-Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada taking the experience to audiences across the country and beyond."
He concluded the statement saying, “This decision has been made to give #imgame the scale, reach, and theatrical platform it truly deserves, allowing audiences across different markets to experience it on the big screen. The wait gets a little longer, But the game gets bigger!"
About the film
Directed by Nahas Hidhayath, I’m Game will mark Dulquer’s return to Malayalam cinema. His last full-length lead role in a Malayalam feature film was the 2023 action-thriller King of Kotha. He was recently seen in a cameo appearance in the 2025 film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. Apart from Dulquer, I'm Game also stars Antony Varghese and Mysskin in prominent roles.
Onam is a big release window for Malayalam films. With I'm Game out of the race, the two big films releasing during the Onam season are Vysakh’s Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Khalifa, and Girish AD’s Nivin Pauly-Mamitha Baiju starrer Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.
