Toxic trailer: Yash's violent gangster avatar leaves internet divided; fans call it 'KGF on steroid'

Reactions to Yash's Toxic trailer are mixed, with some comparing it to KGF and Animal, while others criticise its excessive violence.

The trailer of Yash's long-awaited film Toxic was released on Saturday. The trailer showed Yash in multiple avatars, but one thing that remained constant throughout was the violence and gore. The internet is flooded with reactions to Yash's film. While some were left confused by the over-four-minute trailer, others compared it to Sandeep Reddy Vanga's cinema and lauded Yash's performance.

The trailer shows Yash as a fearless gangster who has no loyalty to anyone. In one particular scene, the makers even hint at the actor playing a dual role of father and son. The actor is seen as a killing machine, while also being charming and a womaniser. We see the women of Toxic fight and cry over him, but that's it — they don't get much beyond that. Yash is seen taking on multiple crime lords. The trailer manages to showcase Yash along with Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth without revealing much of the plotline.

'KGF on Steroid'

The internet had mixed reactions to the trailer. Many compared it to Yash's previous mass entertainer KGF, which made him a national figure. One comment read, "Looks like KGF on Steroid." Another fan was left confused by the trailer as it didn't clearly reveal the plotline of the film. "Will need one more brain to watch this film." One more comment read, "Yash was doing a lot of overacting. The girls were screaming for no reason through out." Criticising the trailer, another comment read, "Nothing in this film seems original. Everything feels like a derivative of a derivative of a derivative."

Another comment had a cheeky response to the makers postponing the film in the past to avoid a clash with Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar 2. "Now we know why it got delayed from clashing over with Dhurandhar 2 😂. Even they knew," the comment read. One more comment read, "Thoda kgf, thoda animal, thoda kabir singh.. aur thoda garam masala lo ban gaya toxic."

'This is real Spirit Animal'

Not all reactions were negative. Some fans lauded the trailer. A fan wrote, "The #Toxic trailer looks really fresh and brings a completely new vibe." One more comment read, "Who is Sandeep Reddy Wanga😂 Real Spirit Animal to ye hai 🔥🔥"
