The fallout between former couple Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana has taken another turn. After strongly denying that he ever pressured Himanshi to change her religion, the Bigg Boss 13 star has now made another claim about their relationship. Asim alleged that Himanshi contacted him three months after their breakup and wanted to get back together.

What Asim said

On Sunday, Asim took to X and claimed that Himanshi had reached out to him in March, just months after their breakup, wanting to give their relationship another chance. He also said he still has screenshots of their conversation and may share them if needed. “Bad relationship-Thyroid, anxiety, depression, nose bleed, Face old, Smell from hair, face acne, So why did you msg me after 3 months in March and wanted to get back to this relationship, don't worry, I have the msg, screenshot, if needed I will post next time,” he wrote.

The latest claim comes shortly after Himanshi opened up about her relationship with Asim on Paras Chhabra’s podcast. During the conversation, she spoke about their differences in faith and how religion eventually became one of the reasons behind their breakup.

What Himanshi said about religion

During her conversation with Paras, Himanshi spoke about the role religion played in her relationship with Asim. She clarified that she would not call it a direct conversation about conversion, but said Asim had often spoken to her about his faith and wanted her to understand and accept it.

“Conversion nahi bolungi, par woh apne religion ki achhi baatein bata rahe the, sab bata rahe the. Achhi baat hai. Woh chahte the ki main achha samajhkar accept karu, lekin mujhe manzoor nahi tha (I wouldn't call it conversion, but he was sharing the good aspects of his religion—explaining everything. That’s a good thing. He wanted me to accept it because I saw the merit in it, but I wasn't willing to do so),” Himanshi said.

Himanshi also spoke about the emotional struggle she went through at the time, saying she started feeling guilty about her faith and even began wondering what would happen to her after she died.

Asim hits back at the allegations

Asim later hit back with a lengthy Instagram post. While he did not name Himanshi directly, it was clear that his statement was in response to the comments made about their relationship. “I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once. Matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You've been in this shape only after meeting me, before that, everyone knew how you looked. So please, don't use religion as a weapon. It's a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you're willing to go for attention,” he wrote.

Asim also hit back at claims that Himanshi had played a role in his career or financial success. He made it clear that he believes he built his career on his own and did not need anyone else to take credit for his achievements. “Who has more money and who has less? Well, if you really want to know, the bank statements can settle that. But, money was never the measure of character,” he added.

Asim takes a dig at Paras Chhabra

Asim also took a dig at Paras, questioning why he was bringing up old relationships and personal matters years later. He suggested that turning someone else's past into gossip said more about the person discussing it than the people involved. "Years later, digging through old relationship and personal life just to create more gossip says more about the person digging than the person being talked about," he wrote.

Asim then made a personal remark about Paras' appearance while criticising him for discussing other people's lives on his podcast. “And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession, brother, respectfully, I'd suggest spending a little less time discussing other people's lives and a little more time in the gym,” he added.

Himanshi reacts to the controversy

As the exchange sparked fresh discussion online, Himanshi appeared to play down the situation on her Instagram Stories. She simply shared a photo from what feels like a vacation and wrote, “Such a peaceful day.”

A look back at their relationship

Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana met on Bigg Boss 13 in 2019, and their relationship soon became one of the most talked-about aspects of the show. Himanshi was in a long-term relationship with Sandeep Singh when she entered the reality show, but the two eventually parted ways. She later started dating Asim, and their relationship continued even after they left the show.

After dating for nearly four years, Asim and Himanshi announced their breakup on December 6, 2023. Himanshi later said that their different religious beliefs played a major role in their decision to part ways. Asim, too, said that they had mutually decided to prioritise their respective faiths over their relationship.
