We meet Sonu Sood at his Andheri (W) apartment. He’s dressed in a blue T-shirt. And denims, his go-to fabric. “I have a huge collection of denims: 400 pairs of jeans, to be precise,” he says. The actor says he doesn’t party, drink, or travel unless it’s for work. What does he do for fun, then? He shops. “I spend half of my earnings on shoes and clothes,” he says.
Staple shades: Blue, white and black are my go-to colours.
Shopping destination: London and Paris. It’s been a while since I’ve shopped in India, because the collection here is not up-to-date with Western trends.
Go-to brand: Gucci for shoes and suits. Also, Ermenegildo Zegna for suits. But, to be honest, I prefer custom-made outfits and shoes.
Sentimental value: I am attached to my denims. The oldest pair must be 10 years old. I don’t throw them away. So much so that I no longer have space to keep all of them. In fact, I have another apartment upstairs that is just a closet.
Shoe collector: I don’t wear a lot of accessories. I could own just one watch and be happy. But I like to collect shoes: I own about 300 pairs.
