British actor Daniel Radcliffe has been roped in to star in new fantasy thriller Horns, based on the bestselling cult novel by Joe Hill.

In the film directed by Alexandre Aja, Radcliffe will play Ig Perrish, who is accused of violently raping and killing his girlfriend. Hung over from a night of heavy drinking, Ig wakes up to see that horns have grown out of his head. Their power causes people to confess their sin - an effective tool in attempting to establish who killed his girlfriend.

"After reading Joe Hill's cult book, I couldn't resist temptation to dive into the devilish underworld and reinvent a universal myth. Horns is a wild ride of sin and crime, with a love story in its heart," hollywoodreporter.com quoted Aja as saying.
