The BJP's Gujarat unit shared a clip from the roadshow, as the Prime Minister, wearing a saffron cap and dressed in all-white, is seen flashing victory sign towards supporters standing on both sides of the road.

In all, the roadshow travelled a distance of 9 kilometres, beginning at the Ahmedabad airport, and concluding at the BJP's Gujarat headquarters, called ‘Kamalam,’ in Gandhinagar, the state capital.

Before leaving for this two-day visit, which will end on Saturday, PM Modi tweeted: “Leaving for Gujarat, where I will be attending various programmes today and tomorrow. At 4 PM today, will address a Panchayat Mahasammelan, where several representatives from Panchayati Raj institutions will attend.”

During his stay, he will attend various programmes. He is also likely to sound the party's bugle for the upcoming assembly elections in the state, likely to be held in December. Gujarat is a BJP bastion; the saffron party has been in power here since 1995. PM Modi, too, had four successive stints as the chief minister, from October 2001 till May 2014, when he resigned after being elected as the Prime Minister for his first term in that post.
