Delhi election results | Highlights: In a historic victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party has come to power in the national capital after 27 years, securing 48 out of 70 seats in the Delhi assembly elections, according to the Election Commission of India. BJP leader Parvesh Verma defeated AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in a high-stakes battle. AAP leader and Delhi chief minister Atishi, however, managed to win the Kalkaji seat against BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri. She resigned from her position as chief minister on Sunday.
Lt Governor V K Saxena has also issued an order to dissolve the legislative assembly effective immediately. BJP's winning candidates Parvesh Verma and Kailash Gahlot also visited the Raj Niwas to meet the Lt Governor.
BJP supporters have been celebrating the result in the city, with prime minister Narendra Modi giving an address at the BJP headquarters to congratulate party workers.

Election Commission Delhi results LIVE: As early trends of the counting of votes of the Delhi assembly election came in, indicating a tight race between the AAP and the BJP and a humiliating defeat for the Congress, Grand Old Party's leader Vishesh Tokas exuded confidence in his party's ability to emerge as "king-maker" stating that no government will be formed in Delhi without Congress' support.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Tokas, who had contested from the RK Puram constituency emphasized that the Congress will get more seats than expected.
"Congress will get more seats than expected and I assure you that government in Delhi will not be formed without Congress party...Congress will be the king-maker in this election," he said.

Election Commission Delhi results LIVE: The counting of votes for the Delhi assembly election is underway. As the exit polls predicted, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) surged ahead with an early lead in over 40 seats. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was leading in 30 seats at 10:45 am.
The Congress is also following the script of the exit polls. Pollsters had predicted a complete rout for the party in the 2025 Delhi polls. The party is yet to open its account and is not leading in any seat.
