The driver identified as Neo Sonks was travelling on the south bound carriageway of the WeH when the accident took place due to a pothole.

Iqbal Shikalgar, senior police inspector of Jogeshwari police station said that Sonks, was going towards Andheri Lokhandwala at 2.30am in his Porche (DN 09 Q 1777) when the accident took place. His friend was driving his BMW and following Sonks.

"Sonks lost balance in dogging a pothole and crashed into the barricade as it was speeding. There were no pedestrians hurt or any other vehicle damaged due to the incident," said Shikalgar.

As the car crashed head-on, the front portion of the car was damaged severely. "We have lodged a case under sections 125 (b), 281 of BNS and sections 184 of the Motor vehicles act against Sonks and are investigating the matter to find out whether the men were racing," said Shikalgar.

A video of the aftermath of the high-impact collision has surfaced, showing the Porsche left in a severely damaged condition.

In the clip, a blue-coloured Porsche can be seen severely damaged, with one headlight still flickering and the other broken into pieces stranded on the side of the road.
