India scored 600 in their first innings. Sri Lanka lost early wickets but were going steady with Angelo Mathews and Upul Tharanga, who put on a 50-run partnership for the third wicket. However, Tharanga was run out and Dickwella was dismissed by Ashwin, putting India on top of the game once again. Angelo Mathews scored a half century as Sri Lanka ended the day on 154/5.
