“As UP is a large state and majority of the people are associated with farming, therefore the farmers deserve a special economic package,” stated Biswas. “The package must include waiving of loans of small and medium farmers and a proper plan to safeguard them from middlemen,” he added.

He called for a comprehensive plan to complete all pending irrigation projects in the state and a proper market price for farmers’ yield. He also informed that a three-day national conference of farmers would be convened in Pilibhit from December 8 to 10.

Biswas said, “Even after completion of two years of formation of the government, the Congress-led UPA has not been able to implement the CMP.” He stated that a conference would be held in New Delhi on July 25 to discuss the anti-labour policies of the Union Government.

Commenting on the Mukherjee Committee report on Subhash Chandra Bose, he said, “AIFB activists will march up to the Parliament on July 26 to mount pressure on the Union Government to accept the commission report and discuss it in the Houses.”
