A 44-year-old man died of swine flu in a hospital in Pune late on Thursday becoming the fourteenth victim of the epidemic in the city, according to an official.

Prabhakar Beragar, a resident of Pune, succumbed to the deadly H1N1 influenza at Sasoon Hospital in the city around 11 pm, the Maharashtra Swine Flu Control Room official said.

Beragar was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition two days ago.

With this the total death toll due to swine flu rose to 18 in Maharastra.
