On Saturday night, Sanjana was getting into a three-wheeler when two men on a motorbike punched her face and slipped away, though she retaliated and pushed the pillion rider down.

“I am the seventh woman in recent days and these men are not doing it to protest the pub culture or dress code. I have heard that women working in garment industry or Bangalore City Corporation have been assaulted,” she said.

Advocate and co-coordinator of the forum, Jagadeesh BN said: “They target single women and these incidents have nothing to do with the attacks in Mangalore or subsequent protests. We want to concentrate on making Bangalore safer for people to walk around whenever they want to.
