Bihar will be crown of India: Nitish Kumar

The state government was giving top priority to improving the state's law and order situation, the Bihar Chief Minister said.

Asserting that the NDA government's efforts to erase Bihar's bad reputation and ensure it a place among the developed states were going in the right direction, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the state would within a few years time be seen as 'crown of the country.'

The state government was giving top priority to improving the state's law and order situation, Kumar said adding that it was taking effective steps to 'shut down the kidnapping industries from the state.'

He was addressing a public meeting near Mangal Talab in Old Patna after laying foundation stones of development projects worth Rs 24 crore for roads and enhancing civic amenities.

Stating that Bihar's image was rapidly changing with with art and cultural functions being held sucessfully, he said the government was receiving encouraging response from leading business and industrial houses of the country in different fields.

"Very soon Bihar will be a favourite destination of leading industrial and business houses," he said.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said that the NDA government has taken up a big task (of bringing allround development) and "We will definitely achieve the objective."

Local MLA and Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, Urban Development Minister Ashwini Choubey and Deputy Mayor of Patna Santosh Mehta also addressed the gathering.
