‘CWG could give business a boost’

The Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi said that the Queen's Baton Relay, starting on Thursday, could help India showcase the immense opportunities it offers the business community in the Commonwealth.

The Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi said that the Queen's Baton Relay, starting on Thursday, could help India showcase the immense opportunities it offers the business community in the Commonwealth. “It has been our endeavour to create a networking environment for business leaders of the Commonwealth,” said Kalmadi, who is also the Commonwealth Business Club India (CBCI) chairman. “We want to project India not only as a tourist destination but also as a great business investment destination. We have planned roadshows in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry in 10 cities.”

Delhi ready to host 2010 Games: Patil

London: President Pratibha Patil, who is currently on a visit to the United Kingdom where she will official accept the baton to signal the launch of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October 2010, has told the BBC that the Indian capital is fully geared to stage the mega sporting event.
