Commuters say the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) is yet to take repair work seriously. The HT team found that few potholes were repaired on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road near Sikandarpur Metro station. Similarly, some patchwork was done on the Sector 14 market road.

"Huda officials are least bothered about commuters' plight. That is why they do not take potholed roads seriously," said Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Sector 45. The Galleria-Super Mart Road, Ardee City Road, and roads of sectors 52, 55, 56, 57 or Golf Course Extension Road are still in a dilapidated state. "The entire MG road is not as smooth as it should be. The uneven upper layer disrupts traffic movement badly," said SS Rai, a daily commuter.

Huda officials, however, say that repair works will be in full swing from Tuesday midnight and all the stretches will be repaired within next two days.

"We are on the job of course as we have already done patchwork on MG Road yesterday. Now, we are moving towards Golf Course Extension Road and all other roads as well, which are in need of repair," said Hari Datt Sharma, executive engineer, Huda.

MG road had witnessed dangerous depression on the middle of the road on Friday. But the authority repaired it after two days. "From Wednesday, there will be no potholes at least. Till all the estimates are approved from the Chandigarh head office, we are not in a position to float tenders for carpeting for these roads," the Huda official said.
