Suresh Kumar's brother Shankar Lal was a history-sheeter under Industrial Area police station with over a dozen criminal cases registered against him at different police stations in Trans-Yamuna area.
'We are trying to find out the criminal history of Shatrughan Yadav who hails from Kaushambi,' informed the SSP.
The arrest came following tip-off to the cops that some persons were manufacturing arms in a dilapidated house near the Curzon Bridge.
Cops swung into action and managed to lay their hands on both men and material which earned them a reward of Rs 5,000 from the DIG Range Akhilesh Mehrotra. The seizure included one .315 bore country-made rifle and eight country-made pistols known in the local dialect as ''Katta'' besides several unfinished weapons that were still in the making.
