Police recovered 14 packets of blood samples, blood transfusion tubes and other equipment used for blood collection in huge quantity from an illegal pathology clinic in Pared Kothi area. Police also nabbed two drug addicts selling their blood to the owner of the pathology. They were released later.
One of the arrested persons was identified as Lallan Singh, owner of the pathology situated at Pared Kothi under Sigra police station.
On revelation of the arrested man, police arrested Dr BK Bhargava, retired chief medical superintendent of Deen Dayal Upadhayay hospital, running a pathology centre in Lahurabeer area. During investigation the cops realised that the pathology centre of Dr Bhargava was licensed on an address in Pandeypur area.
But was being illegally run in Lahurabeer area without properly maintaining the name and addresses of blood donors.
Lallan Singh used to sell infected blood of drug addicts to different blood banks.
Meanwhile, police have launched a campaign against the professional blood sellers and illegal pathology centers.
