Addressing media persons on Saturday evening at his residence, Carlyle Mcfarland alleged that principal BP Masih threatened and abused teachers of the college in the presence of the Methodist Bishop Rt Rev Bishop Thomas, who is also the chairman of the college management committee. He said the Bishop attended this meeting at the request of the staff who wished to inform him about issues leading the college to disgrace. Mcfarland said: “Dr Masih accused the staff of undermining his authority, in the Bishop’s presence.

He abused and threatened some staff. To compound the matter, some past and present students along with some outsiders, barged in to meet the Bishop. But they were removed.” The Bishop, had to be escorted out by the staff. Soon an emergency meeting of the college teachers was held in which it was decided to boycott all college work from Monday until Masih tendered an apology. “The staff has unilaterally apologised for the ugly incident holding the principal responsible for vitiating the atmosphere,” Mcfarland said.

The principal, however, denied all allegations leveled by the teachers. Masih said: “On the contrary, it was some of the teachers, including Rocky John and a librarian who were shouting at the top of their voice.”
