Manipur groups protest against ISKCON blast

The rally was organised by a joint action committee for prevention of terrorist activities at ISKCON complex.

Several social organisations on Wednesday took out a rally to protest against the August 16 grenade explosion at ISKCON complex at Sangprou in Imphal West district of Manipur in which five persons had died and over 50 others including foreigners sustained injuries.

Official reports said activists gathered at ISKCON complex and marched in a procession along Imphal-airport road before holding a public meeting at Thau ground.

The rally was organised by a joint action committee for prevention of terrorist activities and was supported by several social organisations, reports said.

Speakers in the public meeting condemned the August 16 incident in which unknown persons had hurled a powerful grenade at the ISKCON temple during the celebrations of Janmasthami that day.
