DEATH OF a few dreams does not mean the end of life. This poetical expression is quite natural to Padmshree Gopal Das ‘Neeraj’. But, when it comes up during a seminar on astrology, all eyes rise in amazement.

Yes, Gopal Das Neeraj presided over the Annual Astrology Conference at Shree Sanatan Ashram, Gaurabagh, Kursi Road on Sunday and made astrology look interesting. But, he was there as an astrologer and not poet. He did not speak like a poet at all till the audience insisted that he sang a few verses. So he ended his address with the ‘dream and death’ poem. But till then he spoke like a hardcore astrologer and shed light on Krishnamurthy Paddhati (KP) system of astrology.

This left people baffled, but then Neeraj informed them that he was an avid astrologer too. His considerably deep knowledge on astrology reflected in whatever he spoke. This went well with the conference theme that was on KP system. He said astrology is a science and very effective in making predictions.
PWD minister Shiv Pal Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. He inaugurated the conference and sat through the entire first session in which five astrologers one after the other spoke their views on KP System.

This annual event is organised by the Times of Astrology, an astrology magazine that comes out under the auspices of Shree Sanatan Ashram.

Magazine editor Rajeshwari Shankar set the ball rolling by welcoming all and speaking on the new grounds that the conference broke last year.
Apart from the large number of astrologers, from Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Mumbai, Bihar, Kolkata, and Orissa, many more came from different parts of the State to brush up their knowledge.

There were many budding astrologers too. The free consultation camp was only for Saturday, yet many people visited the conference. This over the year has become one of the biggest astrology conferences in the country. Times of Astrology bureau chief (Lucknow) Dinesh Yadav gave the vote of thanks.
