"The incident is shrouded in mystery because the police and people have made different claims about the incident. People claim there was no militant attack and the civilian was killed by the security personnel by the grenade that exploded in the hands of a BSF jawan due to the unknown reasons, which need to be inquired," said Rashid.

In the afternoon, a grenade blast killed two people and injured two others in Baramulla town.

Expressing shock and sorrow over the killing of Abdul Gani Gujree, a civilian, Rashid said, "Militants too have to make their stand clear as they have been saying that their actions won't be targeting civilians."
