As he got up to address the rally in his Lok Sabha constituency here, photographers told the Prime Minister that they could not clearly see his face.
Chehre dekhne layak nahin hai (the face is not photogenic enough), he said evoking a peel of laughter.
Later during the course of his speech, the Prime Minister in a slip of tongue referred to the polling date as September 5 instead of May 5.
Senior leaders sitting on the dais pointed out the mistake to Vajpayee who promptly corrected it.
